- The ship that will be known as Queen Anne's Revenge was a 200 ton ship that would have been built in 1710. It was handed over to Rene Duguay-Trouin and employed in his service for a time before being converted into a slave ship and then operated by the great slave trader Rene Montaudin of Nantes, until it was sold in 1713 to Peru or Chile. It was briefly repurchased by the French Navy in November 1716, but was sold by it for trade five months later to France, again for use as a slaver. He was captured by Black beard and his pirates on November 28, 1717, near the island of Saint-Vincent in the West Indies [...].
