A game created to denounce landlords
Originally, the board did not celebrate real estate wealth: it was meant to show how land accumulation crushes other players. An educational tool that became the very symbol of what it criticized.
From homemade copy to worldwide success
Passed around among circles of friends and universities, the game was copied, modified, and then marketed under another name. The result: hundreds of millions of boxes sold, and a creator left in the shadows.
