Toys for children aged 9 to 11

Ambitious construction projects

At this age, children tackle sets with hundreds or even thousands of pieces. Mythical creatures, a legendary sword with a dragon, a fantasy castle, or pirate ninja figures: each model takes concentration and perseverance, and the finished result is proudly displayed in their bedroom.

Science, robots, and technology

Educational robots, a hydraulic robotic arm to build, and programmable robotics kits introduce children to coding and mechanics. Faster drones and remote-control cars satisfy their need for speed and piloting.

Video games and geek culture

Many preteens play on consoles. Controllers, shells, cases, and skins to customize their console make much-appreciated gifts. See our video game accessories.

Challenges and competition

Battle tops, 3x3 magic cubes, strategy card games, and party board games let kids compete with friends and family. They develop logic, memory, and good sportsmanship.

Choosing the right toy

Between the ages of 9 and 11, children have their own interests and favorite references. Ask them what they like, or choose a project that will keep them busy for several days: a large construction set, a programmable robot, or a stunt kite. Toys that are too “childish” may end up left in the closet.
