Disney Officially Dominates 2024 Box Office, Posting Huge Recovery After 2023 Dip
After a 2023 that could be described as moderately difficult (or downright disastrous), The Walt Disney Company brilliantly reclaims its crown as box office king in 2024. With an impressive total of $5.46 billion in worldwide revenue ($2.23 billion in the United States and $3.23 billion internationally), Disney once again became the number one studio domestically and internationally. This feat also marks the first time since 2019 that a studio has surpassed $5 billion worldwide, a clear sign that the box office is returning to pre-pandemic levels.
2024 was an exceptional year for "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse", which produced three of the year's four biggest hits, including two billion-dollar blockbusters. This success allowed Disney to top the box office for the eighth time in nine years.
The Big Winners of 2024
The greatest triumph of the year is undoubtedly "Vice versa 2" from Pixar, which rewrites history by becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time with $1.7 billion in worldwide revenue ($653 million in the United States and $1.05 billion internationally). Not only did this sequel take the record for the highest-grossing PG film, surpassing "The Incredibles 2", but she also rose to the 8th highest-grossing film in history on a global scale.

What to Expect in 2025?
Disney looks set to surpass 2024 with a busy schedule in 2025. On the Marvel side, highly anticipated films like “Captain America: Brave New World”, "Thunderbolts", And "Fantastic Four: First Steps" will arrive by July.On the animation front, a sequel to "Zootopia" And "Elio" Pixar's are also on the program.
Other major projects include live-action adaptations of "Snow White" And "Lilo & Stitch", as well as new installments of popular franchises like "Avatar: Fire and Ash", "Tron: Ares", "Freakier Friday" And "Predator: Badlands".
